Breast implant illness symptoms can persist for years before a patient decides to pursue removal. This 51-year-old had a 20-year history with 270cc saline smooth implants and had developed palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, and brain fog despite normal bloodwork. Exam showed prior augmentation with some breast droop. Bilateral implant removal and capsulectomy through a lower breast crease incision resulted in a stable, natural appearance with anticipated volume loss mostly in the upper breast bilaterally and significantly less droop, and she healed well with resolution of her prior symptoms.
