Description
Abdominal and flank fullness that persists after childbirth, even with diet and exercise, is a common and normal result of pregnancy’s effect on the body. This 48-year-old felt her hips (flanks) and outer thighs (lateral thighs) had disproportionately increased after raising children, despite working hard to maintain her weight and being otherwise happy with her health and eating habits. She underwent liposuction of a small area of the abdomen and a larger area of the hips, lateral and medial thighs, and buttock (gluteal) crease. Surgery reduced these areas of fullness and helped restore the shape she wanted; her weight changed minimally, but her frame and overall appearance changed dramatically.
