Description
Capsular contracture can develop many years after the original surgery. This 44-year-old, whose prior breast surgery had been 17 years earlier, presented with bilateral hard, uncomfortable breasts consistent with Baker Grade IV capsular contracture — hard breasts with visible distortion and pain. Revision surgery removed the capsule, exchanged the implants, and restored proper pocket position to improve symmetry. Her discomfort resolved and her outcome showed much-improved, natural balance.
