Breast cancer, mastectomy, & breast reconstruction surgery do not have to be traumatic experiences for women.  A talented caring doctor like Dr. Rudderman and a wonderful hospital system like Northside Hospital

make all the difference in the world to a woman going through this life changing experience.

Dr. Rudderman is gifted with an extremely gentle surgical technique.  His technique means less trauma to the tissue, less bruising, less swelling , less discomfort. For Breast Reconstruction surgery, Dr. Rudderman does not use the “flap” technique.  He prefers the “tissue expander” technique.  This technique  also contributes to less tissue trauma and an easier recovery.

Because of his efficiency in the O.R., we find Dr. Rudderman’s patients require less anesthesia, therefore, the patient is “under” anesthesia for far less time than other surgeon’s patients.  Anesthesia, a powerful medication, can take many days to leave a patient’s system.  The less a patient receives, the less time it takes for the anesthesia to leave the system.  A flush of anesthesia from the body allows the patient to feel like themselves again both physically & mentally.  We find Dr. Rudderman’s patients return to work and other normal activities more quickly than the average reconstruction patient.

An additional benefit to Dr. Rudderman’s Breast Reconstruction gentle surgical technique:  Dr. Rudderman’s patients take less or no narcotic medications post surgery allowing patients to drive and resume daily activities soon after surgery.

During your consultation, ask Dr. Rudderman if you are a candidate for a Paravertebral Pain Block during your Breast Reconstruction surgeries.  Essentially a nerve block, this technique requires less anesthesia during the surgery & less or no narcotic pain killers after the surgery. This block allows patients to function more normally the next day & experience an even much easier and quicker recovery.

Due to his gentle technique & superior surgical skills, Dr. Rudderman’s patient’s require only an overnight stay in the hospital.  Dr. Rudderman performs the surgery at the Northside Overnight Facility;  a beautiful, comfortable, well staffed facility.

When resting at home Dr. Rudderman’s patients will need no ice or wraps. Dr. Rudderman and his Registered Nurses, Jessi & Holly personally care for his post-op patients – something you don’t find in all offices.  You will find Dr. Ruddeman & his staff provide consummate care while offering a calm family friendly office environment for you and your family, while you take this journey together.

Talk to friends & relative about their breast cancer & reconstruction experiences.  All experiences are not the same.  The choices are many, but the right choice is clear.  If a Breast Reconstruction patient wants a delicate surgical technique, less pain & discomfort & less down time, and beautiful breasts – Dr. Rudderman is the clear choice.
