There is a surprisingly high number of women and men who feel their nipples are just too large or wide for their breast. Genetics usually accounts for this condition of large, prominent, protruding, droopy nipples. The form, balance, and symmetry of the breast often impacts how people feel about their appearance and typically causes problems in the selection of clothing and activities. Even though men and women live with it for years, today in our enlightened society they are realizing it can be corrected with a nipple reduction procedure. They can have a normal, attractive looking body and they have options to achieve this.
Dr. Rudderman is one of Atlanta’s surgeons of choice. He is specialized in many complicated problems of the breast and he employs delicate, advanced techniques to achieve the most natural-looking results possible.

Nipple Reduction surgery involves reducing the size (projection) of the nipple. Nipples frequently become enlarged after pregnancy, but may be enlarged during puberty and breast development.
Enlarged nipples can be problematic in clothing and difficult to cover even with bra padding. Enlarged nipples in some women may be hypersensitive and uncomfortable in clothing. And enlarged nipples can be difficult to cover in bathing suits and workout clothing.
Precise incisions are made to reduce the excess nipple tissue and delicate sutures are used to complete the surgery. A light dressing for cover is applied. The resulting nipple typically heals with imperceptible incisions and little or no trace of prior surgical treatment.
Sensation may change following nipple reduction surgery because the segment of your nipple will be reduced. Those who have high nipple sensitivity, or who are concerned regarding possible changes relating to sexual stimulation should discuss this during the consultation. Significant changes (reduction) in sensation can occur following nipple reduction.
Nipple reduction should not be done if you are planning another pregnancy and want to breast feed your child.
