What is JUVÉDERM Volbella® XC?

JUVÉDERM Volbella® XC adds subtle volume to lips and softens the appearance of vertical lip lines for up to 1 year. Volbella is Allergan’s newest injectable treatment for the lines around the lips and subtle lip augmentation.

Volbella is a modified hyaluronic acid filler with lidocaine and is part of the JUVÉDERM® family of fillers. As we age, natural substances such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid give skin structure and fullness start to decrease. Some patients may wish to add subtle volume to their lips; others may want to soften the appearance of the vertical lines above them. Lines such as these are often caused by factors such as sun exposure, repeated muscle movement, and the aging process. Volbella® is formulated with VYCROSS® technology to gently restore fullness and shape to your lips. This new injectable will give you natural-looking and long-lasting results. The majority of patients continued to report improved satisfaction with their lips and lip lines over one year.

So whether you are restoring your lips or adding more volume for the first time, don’t wait any longer. Our cosmetic injector, Mallory looks forward to giving her patients natural and desirable results. A Good Candidate

Any man or woman who desire natural-looking improvements may be a candidate for JUVÉDERM® Injectable treatments. Being in overall good health and having realistic expectations is required. Dr. Rudderman and Certified Master Injector, Mallory, will assess your desires and concerns during your initial consultation and customize your treatment plan. Often, patients choose to combine facial procedures – such as HydraFacials or Rejuvapen Treatments to achieve the best results for healthy glowing skin.

The Consultation

Dr. Rudderman believes the first consult is critical to both you, him and Mallory. It is during this time that you both achieve a mutual understanding, trust and respect. The information you provide is essential to tailoring the right treatment plan and realistic goals. Dr. Rudderman and/or Mallory will listen carefully and sensitively before developing your personalized surgery/treatment plan.

The Procedure

JUVÉDERM Volbella® XC is injected by Dr. Rudderman’s Certified Master Injector, Mallory, under the skin using a fine needle.

JUVÉDERM® XC, Volbella®, and Voluma® all contain an anesthetic, called lidocaine, to help reduce discomfort during your treatment.

Why Is Juvéderm® XC Different?

JUVÉDERM™ Ultra and Ultra Plus is a “next generation” hyaluronic acid – smooth gel dermal filler. It is different from others on the market because it is a “smooth gel” that flows consistently into the skin, causing wrinkles and folds to easily “smooth away” with the restored volume to the skin. The Ultra Plus formula is more robust and allows for more versatility in treating deeper wrinkles and folds.

What Facial Areas Are Typically Treated?

Juvéderm® is used to correct areas around the mouth and lips that need to be rejuvenated.

What Makes Juvéderm® Suitable For All Skin Types?

There is no risk of hyper-pigmentation and hyper-tropic scarring.

Juvéderm® Is Different From Botox Cosmetic – How?

Botox is a muscle relaxant that is generally used in the upper facial area to relax the parallel line area between the eyes.

Explain Hyaluronic Acid and Cross-Linking.

Hyaluronic Acid is substance which occurs naturally in all mammals and helps to keep the skin hydrated. With aging hyaluronic acid production slows down and lines, wrinkles and folds appear. Cross-linking is a unique manufacturing process. It is what makes Juvéderm® effective and longer lasting.

Are Juvéderm® Injections Painful?

Because JUVÉDERM is a smooth gel – it flows easily and consistently into the skin. This causes little to no discomfort like other dermal fillers because they are granular.

How Long Does A Treatment Take?

A treatment generally takes 15-30 minutes.

Will Insurance Cover JUVÉDERM Treatments?

NO. Insurance does not pay for cosmetic procedures. But financing is available. Please ask about it in our business office.

  • Dr. Rudderman and his staff made the experience easy and comfortable. They were realistic communicating surgery expectations, expected pain levels and down time from work. Nurses were informative and friendly and wait times minimal. I also liked the fact that Dr. Rudderman does all his own work and doesn't let other less experienced people do parts of the surgery the way other doctors may. I'm only one week out of the surgery, but I am very satisfied with the results so far.
