Nasolabial folds are lines on either side of the mouth that extend from the edge of the nose to the mouth’s outer corners. Almost everyone has nasolabial, however, they become more apparent as a person ages. Smoking, sun exposure, loss of collagen, or rapid weight fluctuations will make nasolabial folds more apparent.
In this video, Mallory discusses using dermal fillers to treat nasolabial folds. While many patients expect and want fillers placed directly into nasolabial folds, this is generally not the best treatment. Instead, master injectors will augment the upper cheek by providing volume to the cheek. This technique will then softens the wrinkles around the mouth and minimizes the nasolabial folds.
Dermal filler treatments generally take 30-45 minutes, depending on your specific needs. These treatments last from 6-24 months. Using a fine needle, the smooth gel is gently injected under the skin. All of our products contain an anesthetic, called lidocaine, to help reduce discomfort during your treatment.
