autumnSay Bye Bye to Sun Damage

Beach trips, baseball games, and long days at the pool are all summer pastimes we enjoy. Unfortunately, these summer activities can wreak havoc on the skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots are noticed after the temperature starts to cool down. Fall and winter months are the best time to visit the spa for treatments for sun damage. Anna and Tonya, our trained medical estheticians, have options for you to put your best face forward.

Photofacials are one of our most requested treatments during the fall and winter months. Photofacials are also known as IPL (intense pulsed light). There is little to no downtime with IPL. This noninvasive treatment safely improves multiple skin imperfections such as sun damage, hyper pigmentation, and much more! The process involves a hand held wand being passed over the treatment area allowing focused light and bipolar frequency to restore your skin to a healthier, more youthful state. Most patients feel a hot pinch sensation that lasts only a fraction of a second, and post treatment can be compared to a sunburn. After each treatment it is common to see gradual lightening and improvement of pigmented and vascular imperfections. Multiple sessions are recommended for optimal results. IPL isn’t just for the face. Don’t forget about your arms, décolleté, hands, and neck.

Another great option for treatment of sun damage is a chemical peel. Chemical peels come in a variety of strengths from mild to aggressive. When performed by a trained professional, chemical peels are a safe and inexpensive way to refine your skin’s appearance. With little to no downtime, peels minimize the appearance of skin imperfections such as age/dark spots, acne-prone skin and premature aging caused by sun exposure. Besides helping with sun damage, this treatment is great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Last but not least we have Biopelle’s KNR serum which can be used as another great way to reduce sunspots. This magical serum helps deliver a clearer, brighter, more even skin tone. KNR can be used up to twice daily. This product is light weight and feels great on the skin with no stinging or burning.

So if you want to reverse the hands of time, there is no better time than now!
